Postgraduate

The Department of Modern History offers teaching and supervision in a variety of themes and issues in current historical practice, including Australian History, Australian society and culture, cultural history, historiography, history of Europe and the West, postcolonial/transnational, women, gender and sexuality, World/Empire and Asian history.

On completion of their undergraduate degree, many students continue to study for a higher postgraduate degree. Three degrees are available: a MA (Master of Arts), Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and PhD (Doctor of Philosophy). The MA is primarily a coursework degree. The MPhil and PhD are research degrees.
