The Centre for Cultural History was established at Macquarie University in late 2006. Over the last five years the Division of Humanities at Macquarie has developed new strengths in the interdisciplinary field of Cultural History, particularly in the areas of feminist and postcolonial studies, gender and sexuality, literary history and critical theory. The centre is home to a group of projects undertaken by researchers at Macquarie, concentrating research efforts in the field. It also aims to be a focus for broader public discussion about the relation of the past to the present.
